An
important part of a search
engine marketing campaign is the content of your
web site, and the keywords in that content.
It's all about content and
keywords. The
right content with the right keywords can reward you with a
steady flow of traffic which will bring in steady
sales.
When writing the content for your site,
you should consider keywords that customers would type into
the search engines to find your products. These are the
terms that are most relevant to the products you sell. They
can include your business name, products name, or a
combination of both. Once you have established the keywords
your content will contain, it's time to work them into you
content. Do not over use them or place them where they
don't belong. Remember, you want the content to be
natural.
Keywords are short phrases or even just
one word that describes the theme of a piece of content
such as an article on a webpage or blog post. Search
engines send out 'spiders' that 'crawl' thru content of
webpages. Keywords are words or phrases that users search
for.
Keyword placement on your pages is an
important consideration. When you choose keywords, you will
usually come up with a primary keyword phrase, then one or
more secondary phrases for each page. The primary phrase
will be the phrase used most often on the page and that is
most relevant to the content topic. You should place it in
the first line of the a few paragraphs on the page or
article you write, then a few more times throughout the
article. You don't want to over use it. The secondary
phrases should be placed throughout the body of the
article. Be sure the keywords sound natural in the
content.
Generally, a keyword with 10,000 searches
per month is going to be one that you can compete for
getting to the top of a search engine . Instead of spinning
your wheels marketing for those who are searching for a one
word that gets 15 million searches per month, create
multiple campaigns that market to more targeted keyword
phrases.
Generally I like to have my articles to
have at least 350 words of content in them with the upper
limit hovering around 500. For a 350 word article you can
expect to use your keyword phrase about 4 times maxim where
a 500 word article you can use the keyword a couple more
times to squeeze the keyword phrase in without setting of
the keyword spamming alarms off.
There are many search engine promotion
opportunities available to you and the list keeps growing.
Stay up-to-date on the latest trends. Look for tips that
will help you get more pages on top of the search
engines.
